Climbing Up....On the Rough Side

This is my first blog ever, and I'm excited about it.

I plan on using this blog as I go through my journey...my journey along the road to fitness that is.  I took the first steps back in May...the first weekend in that month to be exact.  We're now approaching the end of September and I am so proud of myself.  For the first time in my life, I have stuck with it and have been working out, eating better and keeping track of my progress.  I weighed myself over a month ago and was thrilled to share with my family/friends that I had lost 25 lbs total (beginning weight of 183.5.....down to 158.5). My next weigh in this Sunday....I hope to have dropped 10 more lbs. Of course, the scale is not the final answer. I have learned it is also about inches and muscle development as well. But, I am still hoping for those numbers!

This is an uphill climb and I have so much further to go...but I'm grateful for how far I have come.  I don't plan on turning back...EVER. I cannot afford to lapse and go back to that dark, unhealthy place. I don't feel like working out most days lately, but I do it. Cardio, weights, walking/jogging, Yoga, Pilates, Tae bo...I require a variety or else I get bored and can't stick to it.

Anyway, I hope you will come along this journey with me. I will share my successes, my failures, good and bad days. I will update you on my progress and ask that you share yours as well. I hope you find something that inspires you as we interact…if you do share it with someone else. I am open to your feedback, your suggestions, motivation and or advice. I am taking myself to the next level, but there is no way I can do it alone. JC walks before me...Jillian Michaels and Billy Blanks are in my ear....and the motivation of family and friends are keeping me going. Join me in making a change for life....join me in this Lifestyle Evolution!

Stay blessed, and know you’re not alone. Great things await you…stop being afraid and…well, do it today!

  1. This is a great story to tell! I am more than happy for your transformation. Believe me, I know it took a lot of discipline, drive, and will power. Hang tough! My story is similar. I was not really "fat", just big and wide. There are many reason on why and how I ballooned to over 230 lbs. I then decided to take back my life, and lost over 42 lbs all together. I know it can be done. If I can do anything to assist or encourage you, just let me know!

  3. I am so happy for you. I am a testimony that you can achieve whatever you desire. Trust me when I say it does get easier the more you succeed, because it has become a way of life and no longer a battle of the mind. This is your story and I do not want to take away from it, but I can say that from May 2009 through now, I have lost 99 lbs. Anything I can do to help, let me know....God bless you for taking back what is rightfully been entrusted to you.....your health.

  7. Thank you to each of you, friends and family, for your support! I apprecaite you sharing this journey with me. I am learning so much about myself during this process and it feels like an honor to me to inspire others along the way. The distance is not as far for me now as it was a few months ago, but these next few months will be critical. I ask that you keep me in your prayers.

Your stories have inspired me as well, and continue to give me hope. Success is not obtained via the easy route. God is giving me what I need everystep of the way, I just have to give it all I have! Again, thank you and God Bless you. It means so much to me! :)
